What can I expect from root canal treatment?

While only a dentist can determine the need for a root canal, sensitivity to temperature or pain upon touch may indicate an infected tooth. To find the cause of your troubled tooth, we’ll take an X-ray of your mouth to see if anything is wrong with your pulp chamber.

Once you are at ease, we’ll isolate your tooth with a rubber dam and create an access hole on the tooth that the doctor will use to flush out your diseased tissues. Next, we’ll clean your tooth thoroughly until all the infection is gone. The doctor will then fill your tooth with a latex-like material (gutta-percha) to seal out future infections. The final step is reinforcing your tooth with a crown to restore it to its prime state.
