What is CEREC dentistry?
CEREC dentistry is described as restorative dentistry that utilizes a technology known as “chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics” or CEREC. This technology is used in the digital scanning, designing, and milling of dental restorations, including crowns, veneers, and bridges. With CEREC dentistry, patients can have their restorations created and placed in just one single visit to our office, ensuring the same-day repair of common dental concerns.
What can I expect during my CEREC appointment?
CEREC dentistry has revolutionized the way dental restorations are created. The team at Glow Dental Spa eliminates the need for multiple appointments. Instead, we start with a consultation appointment during which the smile is evaluated, and our team can decide if dental restorations are required. If so, the natural tooth or teeth are prepared with the removal of a very thin portion of enamel, and then digital scans are done. This eliminates messy molds commonly used in other dental offices. These digital scans are then used with the CAD/CAM software to create a restoration milled from a block of porcelain material while patients wait! The restoration is then bonded in place to complete the process, allowing patients to leave our office with a brand new smile–and no further appointments!
